A couple of years ago, I donated for the first time ever to a Kickstarter campaign. At a Portland horror convention, I met Jesse Blanchard, a driving force behind the first full-length puppet movie in thirty years. Of course, it has zombies in it, so how could I resist? Zombie puppets? Yes please! Welcome to the world of Frank-N-Zed. I was drawn in and became a backer. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to actually go out to the filming location and see where the magic takes place. Now YOU can be a part of it as what had once been hoped to reach a half hour in length has grown to a feature-film length.
Right now, they are honing this movie so that it is as perfect as possible (FYI-no creator ever believes their project is ever done OR perfect). It will come out soon, and YOU could see your name in the credits or any other of a number of things being offered if you step in and back this project. Take a look at the original trailer that grabbed my eye.
I have my crew jacket (which I can now wear since the weather has turned) as well as a dead squirrel–Frank hunts them to feed the brains to Zed–and a “stained glass” panel that is based on a picture of me with my African Greys on my shoulder. How cool is that? And I am very excited to wait for the red carpet premiere when I get to see this movie debut.
If you have ever wanted to be a part of something super cool…this is your chance. Check them out on the Puppetcore Facebook or just go straight to their kickstarter page. If you tell them I sent you, and you show me your own confirmation message, here is what I will do…I will name a character after you in my upcoming DEAD: Suffer the Children (Book 3 of the New DEAD series).
