I love this time of year. Not a big fan of hot weather, and we’ve had plenty of that this year. There is a nip in the air, and scary movies are popping up everywhere. This is my time of the year. Halloween. Of course, as a horror (zombie) author, this is like Christmas for me. And we decorate accordingly. I actually have neighbors come over to ask when we will be putting them up.
Halloween is just a blast for me. I get to start cooking all sorts of fun things as this is also the kickoff to baking season. Also, this is when I start making my Thanksgiving menu. My sons will be joining me for the first time ever! This makes the season even better! This segue has a purpose.
As Halloween arrives and the holidays come at us at breakneck speed…there are many out there who might not have family to share these times with. I will be making some posts about depression in the coming weeks, but right now, I want to just remind you that, if you are like me and so excited for this time of year, remember that this is also when others start to dread it. They are seeing something ahead that is scarier than any movie you will watch on cable or Netflix…
Reach out to somebody that maybe you haven’t thought of for a while. Give them a treat!
