Do you notice a pattern here? No 1 or 2 star reviews, the majority are 5 star and there is a reason for that. I am a huge fan of the Walking Dead TV show and that got me to read a few “Zombie” books. I read World War Z and was ok but never gave closure. The movie was a huge disappointment. When isaw Dead: The Ugly Beginning”, I thought it would bea prequel to the Walking Ded. It wasn’t but what a great book, I had an extremely hard time putting it down and breezed through it. By the end of the book my appetite for more was comparable to TW’s zombies lust for flesh. Revelations curtailed that appetite only until I reached the end, which I just did a few minutes ago and I just finished purchasing book 3 and will be starting it when I finish this review. TW’s characters all have interesting story lines that are easy to follow and are very easy to relate to. The chapters are long enough to keep you interested but not too long to get boring. Some characters you will like, some you will hate (Garrett, Lee, Shaw), some are vanilla. One gret character is Jennifer Zombie. Reading the story from her aspect as a zombie is awesome.
I had never heard of TW Brown before I read these first two books but he has now joined my list of Stephen King, WEB Griffen & Tom Clancy as favorite authors.
